Activities at Linn Lake

Activities

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Clark Family Compound at Linn Lake.  This retreat promises to provide us a place to relax, unwind, and enjoy each other in a very quiet and pristine setting.  There are about 70 acres of forested land to walk and explore.  Some of our early projects will be to clear walking paths around the lake to allow visitors to enjoy the lake and its wildlife.

Fishing

Fishing is the most obvious activity at Linn Lake.  The lake boasts a healthy population of largemouth bass, crappie and bluegill.  Most fish have been caught on artificial lures, but live bait will also get the job done.  There are two skiffs available to get out on the lake and numerous areas where fishing from the bank is possible.  We have a large selection of fishing equipment to choose from, so there is no need to bring a lot of equipment with you.

Firing Range

There is a firing range in the central western area of the property, easily accessible by trail. The range features a shooting platform and target stations at 25, 50 and 100 yards. It is suitable for both pistol and rifle marksmanship practice.

Nature Walks

With over 70 acres of wooded land and 45 acres of lake, there is ample opportunity to enjoy nature.  There is a road that goes around the lake, providing an easy route for nature walks.  For the more adventurous, fire breaks and the lake perimeter offer a more challenging hiking venue.

Billiards and Darts

The game room at the Lake House sports a full size billiard table and a dart board to entertain worn out fishermen at the end of the day.

Opportunity Labor

There are always plenty of maintenance and site improvement projects available to occupy the brief breaks from fishing that are bound to occur.  We will be glad to take advantage of whatever casual labor is available to continue to improve the condition and amenities at Linn Lake.
